JOHOR BARU: A new Johor Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman will be appointed after Hari Raya Aidilfitri to replace Datuk Osman Sapian.

“A name has already been selected and party secretary-general Datuk Marzuki Yahya would prepare an official letter on the appointment. The official announcement will be made after the Hari Raya holidays and before the party elections,” he said after the launch of a Bersatu book here yesterday.Solihan was asked about a news report that said former Johor executive councillor and Tebrau Bersatu division chief Mazlan Bujang would be appointed as the new state chairman.

He denied the report which claimed Mazlan had received the majority support from all division chiefs who attended the meeting at the party’s state headquarters recently. “We have 26 divisions but only 22 chiefs and their representatives attended the meeting while the remaining four did not come.
