Lauren Hewski, 18, died in the crash in Colts Neck after accepting an associate’s degree from an early college program at Brookdale Community College.

A New Jersey student was killed in a horrific car accident while on her way home from her college commencement.

Hewski was the passenger in a Jeep Cherokee driven by a 17-year-old boy when it hit a utility pole and flipped on Laird Road at about 12:30 p.m., authorities said. She died at the scene. Stout said Hewski was one of the youngest graduates of the program that allowed students to earn an associate degree while simultaneously finishing high school.
