New Ireland manager Heimir HallgrÍmsson is travelling to Waterford this afternoon for crunch talks with John O’Shea.
He wanted the job on a full-time basis, but didn’t tick all of the FAI boxes in terms of previous international managerial experience.READ MORE: Caoimhin Kelleher reveals targets for season as new Liverpool boss rings in changes In Dublin today, HallgrÍmsson said: “I have a meeting with him in Waterford and I'm going to drive down and sit with him.”"I'm going to start with him, obviously he is the most important guy for me, the assistant. I'm going to start with him and take it from there.”
"My way into national team coaching was exactly like that and I think the assistant coach should be the one that carries the knowledge to the next cycle,” he said.
