JAKARTA: The body of AM, a 13-year-old boy who was allegedly beaten to death by police officers in early June in Padang, West Sumatra, will be exhumed on Thursday (Aug 8), following the issuance of a permit from the police earlier this week.
Institute for Development Studies Sabah chief executive officer Datuk Dr Ramzah Dambul and Kembara Kitchen founder William Cheah posed for a group photo after the briefing on setting up of IDS - Kembara Kitchen -PACOS Voluntary Service Hub in Kota Kinabalu.
He said that the IDS-Kembara Kitchen-PACOS Voluntary Service Hub has been set up to ensure that aid is distributed efficiently and equitably as well as minimising duplication and filling coverage gaps He added that the establishment of this disaster relief hub will enhance early preparation efforts to mitigate the risk and impact of disasters, particularly the La Niña-induced floods anticipated later this year.
Ramzah said IDS organised a briefing recently on the setting up of the disaster relief hub, attended by 95 participants from government agencies, non-governmental organisations, private companies and voluntary groups.
