As Google prepares to move back to the mid-range smartphone market, the latest details on the Pixel 6a specs have leaked.

While the site does not lay out any brand names or marketing bullet points, the arrangement of the chipset’s coresmatch up with the Tensor Mobile chips that are featured in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro: You have two Arm Cortex-X1 cores , two Arm Cortex-A76 , and four power-efficient cores (1.8GHz; which are all backed up by the Mali-G78 GPU. The listing also notes 6 GB of RAM, one of the biggest clues that this model is going to be targeted towards a lower price segment than the Pixel 6.
That makes a lot of sense. While Google looked to cover the mid-range with the Pixel 4 and Pixel 5 families, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro were unashamedly targeting the higher priced points of the market. With industry-leading chip design in Google's Tensor chips, significant investment in software and hardware in the camera, and some smart decision to maximise battery life, the handsets aimed high and left the previous market behind.
