Houstonians who've traveled through George Bush Intercontinental Airport can relate. The $1.3 billion International Terminal Redevelopment Project has engulfed the region’s largest airport in construction and caused traffic jams around Terminals C, D, and E–leaving some passengers, this summer,Recent travelers report that congestion has eased as parts of the project are completed. The coast, however, is not yet clear.
Hobby Airport, however, received above-average reviews in the “large” airport category, which includes those with between 10 million and 32.9 million passengers. The airport stood out during this year’s hectic summer travel season for having a cancellation rate of under 1 percent of scheduled flights -- less than half the national rate. Hobby, which earned 803 points on the 1,000-point scale, was one of only six or seven airports across the country with increased satisfaction scores.
