KUALA LUMPUR: The Nepal Embassy here has lodged a police report over a viral video showing a Nepalese guard being beaten by a man with a baton.
“The Embassy of Nepal notes with concern the recent video trending on social media regarding the assault on a security guard in Malaysia.carry out an investigation, ” it said in a post on its official Facebook page.
The embassy urged those with information to contact officials at [email protected] or 016-247 2777. The one-minute video clip making its rounds on social media shows a man confronting the security guard and continuously beating him with a baton.In the video, the attacker is seen punching the guard in his face, while asking the guard whether he came to Malaysia to find work or to look for trouble.
The video has a timestamp, indicating that it was recorded on July 7. It was posted on a Facebook page on Thursday.Those with information can call the police hotline at 03-2115 9999.
