KUALA SELANGOR: Pencemaran di Sungai Sembilang didakwa sudah berlarutan lebih 10 tahun namun tiada tindakan efektif menyelesaikan masalah itu.
Pengerusi Pangkalan Nelayan Sungai Sembilang, Norhizam Sarif berkata, ia berlaku sejak 2013 dan pernah diadukan kepada Jabatan Alam Sekitar Selangor.
“Ketika itu nelayan dibantu JAS dengan kerjasama pengurusan tapak pelupusan sampah berkenaan mengenal pasti paip tersebut yang menyebabkan pencemaran. Ketika itu dalam radius 1km semua pokok berhampiran paip tersebut mati. “Nasib baik waktu hujan, air sungai jadi bersih dan kurang bau. Tetapi sampai bila hendak berdepan masalah pencemaran itu, sudah 10 tahun nelayan-nelayan di sini hadapi.
Katanya, nelayan yang terlibat dengan projek semaian benih kupang mengalami kerugian lebih RM100,000 selepas lebih separuh kupang, siput anak dara dan hidupan cengkerang lain mati akibat pencemaran.
