The limited run of intimate shows will explore Young’s deep catalog of music.

announced a limited run of West Coast show dates that kick off on July 1 at John Anson Ford Theatre in Los Angeles.

He’ll be taking up residency at that intimate 1,200-seat venue and will continue his stay there on July 2, 4 and 5. The jaunt also hits the Santa Barbara Bowl on July 7; Vina Robles Amphitheatre on July 8; The Shell in San Diego on July 11; the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on July 13; and The Greek at Berkeley on July 15.Tickets to all show dates go on sale at 10 a.m.

“I’d rather be doing these other songs I haven’t done … I won’t have to compare how I’m doing ‘Heart of Gold’ to in 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010, 2020…,” he said. While he said he’d still play some hits, he revealed he would play deeper cuts like “If You Got Love,” “Prime of Life,” “Sleeps with Angels” and “Song X,” the latter of which comes from his 1995 “Mirror Ball” collaboration with Pearl Jam.
