SUNGAI PETANI: Roslei Kamisan who was arrested by police for allegedly insulting Kedah Mentri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor claimed that he was slandered by police.
His lawyer Asheeq Ali Sethi Alivi said Roslei is demanding that Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Adzli Abu Shah publishes a written apology statement, retracts his allegations against Roslei and pay RM100,000 in damages."Our client did not have any past conviction or an ongoing investigation against him under Section 506 of the Penal Code," he said in a statement on Saturday .
ACP Adzli when contacted, said he had not received the notice of demand yet from Roslei's lawyer and stressed it was Roslei's right to pursue legal action. Roslei was arrested at his house in Lenggeng, Negri Sembilan on Aug 9 at about 3.15am to facilitate investigations, following a complaint lodged by Muhammad Sanusi's media officer.
Asheeq said Adzli had 14 days to comply with the demands, failing which legal action would be initiated.
