The Cornhuskers fell short in an instant classic in overtime against Illinois last Friday. They take to the road for the first time this season against a struggling Boilermakers group.
Senior receiver Isaiah Neyor is Raiola’s top target with 16 receptions for 277 yards and four touchdowns. He is averaging 17.3 yards per reception. Nebraska has lost five straight games against Big Ten opponents but did defeat Purdue 31-14 in a cold and sloppy contest last season. It was the first time they beat Purdue since 2020 and only the second victory since 2017.Senior quarterback Hudson Card has tallied 453 yards and six touchdowns with three interceptions. Four of those touchdowns came on opening night in a laugher against Indiana State. Card is 18-of-41 for 180 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in his last two games.
Purdue’s defense has been shaky this season. The Boilermakers are allowing 392.3 yards per game. They have allowed 104 points in the last two games combined. Purdue’s defense has yet to force a turnover this season.
