Danny’s brother, Bobby, the head coach at Arizona State, won two NCAA championships as a player during his legendary career at Duke University. Their father, Bob, was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010 for his illustrious career at St. Anthony High that included coaching his teams to 28 state championships and four No. 1 national rankings.
The City Hall event is scheduled for 5 p.m. and will include Mayor Steve Fulop, city council members and members of the Hurley family. The ceremony marks the second consecutive year Jersey City is celebrating the results of the NCAA Tournament. Last year the city held a parade in honor of the Saint Peter’s University men’s team’s historic run to the Elite 8 of the 2022 tournament.
