Nationals Senator Ross Cadell has apologised on breakfast television after being questioned about his tense encounter with Independent MP Bob Katter during an inquiry into supermarket prices. The two politicians came face to face on Tuesday outside a Senate Select Committee inquiry into alleged supermarket price gouging in the NSW Central West town of Orange. The encounter became so heated that the Member for Kennedy got in the face of Mr Cadell and warned him to stop interrupting.

When pressed about the incident by Sunrise co-host Natalie Barr on Wednesday, Mr Cadell said he"did the wrong thing in retrospect"."I think I did the wrong thing in retrospect. I think Bob did the wrong thing," he said
