KUALA LUMPUR: Lee Zii Jia played one of the best matches of his career to upstage world No. 8 Shi Yuqi of China and book his place in the semi-finals of the Perodua Malaysian Masters at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil on Friday (Jan 8).
The 14th ranked Malaysian came from a game down to stun Shi Yuqi 12-21, 21-16, 21-19 in a match that lasted 69 minutes.
Their compatriots Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jamie were a letdown however after they went down tamely to China’s world No. 1 pair Zheng Siwei-Huang Yaqiong.
