Taxes well spent? SA discussed whether or not taxpayers should be footing the bill for Mama Joy to support the country's national team.
South African sports fanatic Mama Joy has become a beloved part of the country’s sports celebrations and is currently the face of SA sport fans. Over the last few weeks, she has graced the stands in support of the Springboks who are currently gunning for the Rugby World Cup which is underway in France.
Her enthusiastic support of local soccer teams is certainly taking her places and allegedly, getting her paid. “I was today years old when I found out that these two are paid by the Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture to go and be supporters in the stands. I’m not joking, they are paid by taxpayers to go to sporting events across the world to “represent” South Africa,” he wrote about Mama Joy and Botha.I was today years old when I found out that these two are paid by the Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture to go and be supporters in the stands.
Others however argued that Mama Joy is well worth the money considering how much she brightens up the stadium in support of the country’s national teams.
