NASCAR legend Richard Petty was made an ambassador for Legacy Motor Club as Jimmie Johnson took an ownership stake in the team and rebranded the organization.

Legacy Motor Club was known as Petty GMS Motorsports until January. Johnson purchased an ownership stake in the group in November.
