PETALING JAYA: Stroke survivors can get free health assessments until Sept 30 as the National Stroke Association Of Malaysia (Nasam) aims to gauge the recovery progress and help in better recovery for the survivors.

The initiative, which began on Aug 1, offers a one-on-one session with a therapist to identify main health issues, what needs to be tested and recovery goals to achieve.

“As rehabilitation is critical in stroke recovery, we would like to lend a hand to affected families. Stroke is the third leading cause of death in Malaysia and every year 50,000 new cases are reported, Nasam noted.
