After losing its communications link with the moon-bound CAPSTONE satellite, U.S. firm Advanced Space has managed to reestablish contact with its satellite.
Following its successful launch and deployment last week, NASA lost its communications link with the CAPSTONE satellite, which is heading toward a lunar orbit.
“The signal confirmed the location of the spacecraft,” Advanced Space said on Wednesday. It added that “initial indications suggest the spacecraft systems are functioning properly” and that it is “happy and healthy.” It said the team has “high confidence” that the issue has been resolved though cautioned that it is still a “very dynamic situation.” Updates on the situation will be coming soon, the company confirmed.
