But that's too late for Notre Dame and North Carolina, a pair of teams that were able to get two innings in Wednesday night before the umpires deemed it was getting too dark to safely continue the contest.The elimination contest had the two teams deadlocked at 1-1 when play was halted. Earlier Wednesday night, Vanderbilt dropped Notre Dame into the loser's bracket of the double elimination tournament with a 13-3 triumph.
"We had been struggling a little bit on offense, but we showed today how we're capable of hitting," Vanderbilt Manager Larry Wheeler said.
