Wheeker was intubated and unconscious for days.Wheeker has also experienced lingering physical effects from the strike.Wheeker, a professional opera singer, said he is concerned that his lasting injuries may impact his career.
"It's pretty crucial that I be able hear the orchestra in the pit," he said."It's certainly a concern of mine when I sing."Wheeker said he has a number of follow-up appointments to try and improve his hearing, but he said he owes his brother and dad everything for jumping into action right away.
