Najib seeks review of CBT charges in IPIC case
Former prime minister Najib Razak has launched a fresh bid to have the CBT charges he is facing, linked to payments of RM6.6 billion to International Petroleum Investment Company, dropped. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, August 9, 2023.
Najib and Irwan were charged in 2018 with six counts of CBT amounting to RM6.6 billion in government funds involving payments to International Petroleum Investment Company . Meanwhile, Najib’s lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, and K. Kumaraendran, acting for Irwan, asked that the date for case management be held within a month. Justice Jamil then fixed it for September 12.
On October 24, 2018, Najib and Irwan pleaded not guilty to six charges of CBT amounting to RM6.6 billion in government funds involving payments to IPIC.
