KUALA LUMPUR: Ahli perniagaan yang dikehendaki pihak berkuasa, Low Taek Jho melantik beberapa firma perhubungan awam, peguam dan ejen untuk meningkatkan imejnya berikutan skandal 1MDB, kata sebuah badan pemikir di Washington DC.
Walaupun Ashcroft Law Firm menyerahkan pengisytiharan Fara, memperincikan kegiatan dijalankan untuk Najib dalam tempoh 6 bulan pada separuh kedua 2018, firma itu belum melaporkan menerima sebarang bayaran, dengan alasan “gangguan dalam kerja dan keperluan bayaran”. Menurut CRP, Levick Strategic Communications, firma yang baru-baru ini dilantik oleh Kobre dan Kim, meraih AS$50,000 sebagai ejen untuk memberikan “nasihat perhubungan strategik, khidmat kaunseling dan pelaksanaan dalam merancang siasatan profil tinggi dengan perhatian media” dan “pelbagai urusan perundangan berkaitan”, dari 21 Februari ke 6 Mac.
“Firma-firma itu menyelaraskan struktur yuran tersebut pada Ogos, dengan menaikkan retainer bulanan kepada AS$100,000 atas alasan beban kerja.
