Fernando Manuel Chavez Santos, 33, was pronounced dead after the crash around 2:10 a.m. on Irving Avenue in Upper Deerfield, State Police said. Mario A. Lopez was driving west near milepost 2 when his SUV veered off the road and struck a tree, police said. Lopez fled but was arrested later Sunday, police said.
