SEREMBAN: Police have arrested a 21-year-old suspect in connection with the murder of a Myanmar national.
Kuala Pilah OCPD Supt Amran Mohd Gani said the suspect, who was also a Myanmar national and the nephew of the 26-year-old victim, was detained at around 3pm on Sunday .
He said the man was caught along Jalan Selaru-Dangi near Kuala Pilah, a short distance from a farm where the body was found.Earlier on Sunday, police received a call from a livestock farmer saying that one of his workers had been found dead at the farm. Police found the victim's body with severe head trauma, believed to have been caused by blows from a blunt object.
Supt Amran said the police forensics team also found a piece of wood, believed to have been used in the attack, at the scene.Supt Amran said police have obtained a one-week remand order on the suspect and were investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
