Bakugo's complications were hinted at much earlier.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Warning: Spoilers for the Final War arc of My Hero AcademiaIn the battle with Shigaraki, during My Hero Academia's Final War arc, Bakugo pushes himself too hard, causing beads of nitroglycerin to form in his blood, which detonate across his body, causing massive self-inflicted damage. While Bakugo appears to be dead, his actual fate remains unclear, as Edgeshot is desperately trying to revive him when last shown.
Back in the Final Exams arc of My Hero Academia, Bakugo and Deku were tasked with battling against All Might, and had to either retreat before a specific time limit or render their opponent unable to battle. The two instantly disagreed on which option to take, but slowly began to work together, to the point where Bakugo actually handed over one of his gauntlets to Deku to use against All Might.
Bakugo's Gauntlets Protected Him from Overdoing It Bakugo performs his all-or-nothing attack without the gauntlet, a move which he admits is risky. The gauntlets have reservoirs that collect his nitroglycerin-laced sweat, which can then be more safely used as explosive fuel. In the panel where Bakugo does this, his veins can be seen throbbing on his arms, indicating how hard this is on his body.
Many fans disliked Bakugo's death scene, as they felt like his weakness that brought him down wasn't sufficiently hinted at beforehand, but chapter 65 proves that Bakugo has always had this particular weakness, almost 300 chapters earlier. Even All Might recognized the damage he was doing to himself, and eventually knocked Bakugo out in the middle of the exam just so that he'd stop injuring himself.
Bakugo as a character has always been about pushing himself past his limits, even when it was demonstrably unsafe to do so, so it's not too shocking that this flaw eventually caught up to him. While Bakugo's ultimate fate remains up in the air, fans can at least recognize that his weakness from overusing his Quirk really was hinted at--just very, very early in the series.
