This confirms what our late great educator and National Treasure, Maestro Richard Gill, was striving for all his life: that teaching music from the earliest age to every child in the country will change our nation fundamentally and forever.
There are a vast number of reasons to prioritise a music program in all schools. There would be important funding problems to overcome, but every student deserves the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument. Every student should be encouraged to sing, sing and sing some more, every day. Music can save us.What fantastic and refreshing news to start the day. The enthusiasm of the children to play music as part of the school work day gives me optimism for the future.
