KOTA KINABALU: Thirty-three assemblymen led by Tan Sri Musa Aman, who failed to topple the Warisan Plus state government, are going to court over the July 30 dissolution of the state assembly by Governor Tun Juhar Mahiruddin.
The assemblymen have filed the application at the Kota Kinabalu High Court for a judicial review of the decision of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri to dissolve the Sabah assembly.
In court documents filed, they are seeking to obtain an injunction on the dissolution of the assembly and to question the July 29 written request from Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal to Juhar seeking to dissolve the assembly. The 33 assemblymen named Juhar as the first respondent, Shafie, the Election Commission and the state government as second, third and fourth respondents respectively in their suit that is expected to challenge the constitutional powers of the Head of State.
It is understood that Sabah attorney general Brenddon Keith Soh will be representing the Governor and the state government.
