The woman has been accused of orchestrating an elaborate hoax in which she pretended for months to be pregnant and planned to present the infant as her own.
Fieramusca faces up to life in prison if convicted.
The case took a grisly turn Dec. 19 when Broussard’s body was found in a duffle bag in the trunk of a car outside a suburban Houston home where Fieramusca lived. Earlier in the day, authorities rescued a baby later identified as Broussard’s.
