Munster High School ranked No. 9 in Indiana on U.S. News & World Report’s 2023-24 Best High Schools rankings released Tuesday.
Other local schools ranked in the top 20 include Valparaiso High at No. 17 and Washington Township High at No. 19.The report reviewed nearly 25,000 public high schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.Scoring was based on college readiness as reflected in the proportion of 12th grade students who took and passed at least one Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate exam.
It also tracked state assessment proficiency and performance across demographics, college curriculum breadth and the graduation rate. The AP participation rate at Munster High is 66%. Its minority enrollment is 50% and 19% of students are economically disadvantaged.The report listed the private Early College at Guilford in Greensboro, N.C. as its top school.U.S. News & World Report top 20 Indiana high schools
