The sheriff's office in Androscoggin County, Maine, says a suspect is at large and businesses are advised to lock down or close
The Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office said around 8 p.m. that a suspect is at large, sharing a photo of an armed man in what appeared to be a place of business.
Maine State Police asked people in Lewiston to shelter in place, confirming an active shooter situation in the city and adding that two locations are being investigated."We are encouraging all businesses to lock down or close while we investigate," the sheriff's office said. "I am aware of and have been briefed on the active shooter situation in Lewiston," Gov. Janet Mills said in a statement."I urge all people in the area to follow the direction of State and local enforcement. I will to continue to monitor the situation and remain in close contact with public safety officials."World Series
