PUTRAJAYA: Bersatu's supreme council never endorsed Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the party's choice for prime minister, says Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.
The Bersatu deputy president said Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was the party's sole candidate for prime minister and this was decided in a previous supreme council meeting on Wednesday .
"Secondly, the supreme council unanimously decided that Dr Mahathir must retract his decision to step down as party chairman. Mukhriz said the onus is now on him to reach out to all the party's grassroots supporters that Muhyiddin did not have the council's endorsement, and that Dr Mahathir was still party chairman."This is a risk that I and a few others have to face. But I am used to being sacked from parties," he said.
