Geo-political and security concerns, and the wishes of younger peopleare other factors for the party's move.

KOTA KINABALU: Muhyiddin Yassin, president of PPBM, has no qualms that setting foot in Sabah was the right thing for the party to do.

“PPBM’s entry is because of the wishes of the people. And as a way to respect those wishes, we had discussions with our friends in Sabah including from Warisan. At last, PPBM is in Sabah,” he said. He said PPBM was against abuse of power and corruption, two traits that had plagued the previous Barisan Nasional administration.

“Therefore, Sabah PPBM is ready to give a space to them,” he said, adding the party will also protect their interests of indigenous people. “And if compared to local parties, they only rule for a short period of time, not exceeding 10 years,” Hajiji said.
