KIMANIS: The proposed Sabah Temporary Pass is not a"license" to obtain Malaysian citizenship, says Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin YassinHe said that the PSS was an effort to convert three different documents issued to refugees fleeing civil war in the southern Philippines into one high-security card with biometric features.
"We were not in power yet," said Muhyiddin, countering Barisan Nasional's denial that such a pass was proposed by them back in 2015. "After GE14, we re-examined Press and we presented it to the new government. We agreed to study the proposal further and make improvements ... It was presented in the main committee on Sept 6,2019, which agreed to the implementation of the PSS," said Muhyiddin.
