PETALING JAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and four others were not sacked from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), says Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
"What they did violated the party's constitution, and this caused their memberships to be terminated with immediate effect," said the Bersatu president in a press release on Saturday
"I want to be fair to all parties and ensure that whatever is done is based on the party constitution. No individual is above the party constitution," said Muhyiddin. On Thursday , Bersatu had issued termination letters to Dr Mahathir and four other former Bersatu MPs for having gone rogue by sitting with the Opposition in Parliament.
“You have informed that your seating in Parliament would be with the bloc that does not support Perikatan, which is led by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who is also the Bersatu chairman.
