KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has never said that the government would recognise the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) at his recent meeting with leaders of the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong), says the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

According to the statement, the prime minister instead said UEC had gained partial recognition when the government previously accepted UEC holders for a teaching degree programme specialising in the Chinese language at Institut Pendidikan Guru Malaysia . "The prime minister also stressed that UEC should follow the National Education Policy if it is seeking a resolution of the matter by the government in the future,” the statement added.
