MUAR : A pasar malam trader has been charged at the Sessions Court here on Sunday with raping and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old disabled student.
Lim Khim Tai, 47, was slapped with 11 charges of raping and committing sexual assault on the intellectually disabled girl from March 8 to May 24. He was charged with four counts of rape and seven counts of sexually assaulting the victim, in the bedroom of a house on Jalan Temenggong Ahmad here.The rape charges were framed under Section 376 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum jail term of 30 years and whipping if convicted.
The sexual assault charges were framed under Section 14, Section 14 and Section 14 of the Sexual Offences against Children Act 2017, which carries a maximum jail term of 20 years and whipping upon conviction." worried that the accused, who is a friend of the victim's father, will harass her as the girl is currently five months pregnant," he said.
