Defending champ Nueva Ecija looks to book its ticket to the MPBL North Division semifinals as it goes for the series clincher against Pasay at the Ynares Sports Arena on Monday, October 16.
Game Two of the best-of-three quarterfinals series between the Rice Vanguards and the Voyagers is set at 6 p.m., their match serving as the curtain-raiser of a double-header gameday. The San Juan Knights and the Makati OKBet Kings collide in the main event at 8 p.m, with the former also looking to finish their series.Playing before their home crowd last Monday, the Rice Vanguards came back from a 15-point deficit to turn back the Voyagers and put themselves on the cusp of a semis berth.
Nueva Ecija head coach Jerson Cabiltes said that taking away the mismatches that the Voyagers took advantage of in Game One is something that they need to address, adding that they need to brace for a more physical affair in Game Two.'We only played well in the latter part of Game One. They were forcing mismatches. That's why we need to adjust on defense and pressure them hard so they won't get their desired mismatches anymore,' said Cabiltes.
