MP: More mobile labs needed at border checkpoints

The Miri MP said Sarawak needs more mobile lab facilities for comprehensive on-the-spot health checks.

Miri MP Dr Teo Yu Keng said Miri was a major entry point into Sarawak for foreigners coming in from Brunei, including China nationals who flew from China to Brunei en route to Miri.

“There are no such facilities at the Brunei-Miri entry point at the Sungai Tujuh immigration checkpoint. Dr Teo said in view of the current Wuhan coronovirus scare, it was essential to thoroughly screen all foreigners coming into Miri, especially those from China who come here for work and tour visits.Brunei has daily direct flights to mainland China and Hong Kong.
