Glamour's global Woman of the Year honoree Millie Bobby Brown is a bona fide global superstar thanks in no small part to her turn as Eleven in Netflix’s Stranger Things. The actor is a producer, beauty brand founder, UN ambassador, and author. And no, she doesn’t care whether you think she’s too young for world domination.
Today, Glamour unveils our two global Women of the Year—Millie Bobbie Brown and America Ferrera—who are being honored by Glamour in the US, as well as Germany, Mexico and Latin America, Spain, and the UK. The rest of our incredible class of 2023 will be announced on November 1, 2023. It’s June, and Millie Bobby Brown is pushing a baby carriage through the lobby of a Manhattan hotel. The 19-year-old is accompanied by her fiancé, Jake Bongiovi, and a burly but kind security guard.
Brown and Bongiovi met after what Brown describes as “a really…interesting time” in her life. “I was so upset with myself and the decisions I had made,” she says. She is likely referring to her relationship with Hunter Ecimovic, a TikToker whom Brown was previously in an “unhealthy situation with.” Ecimovic had gone on social media and spewed claims about his relationship with Brown, including that he groomed her.
