NEW DELHI: A suspected case of Nipah virus was reported in India's southern state of Kerala, the state's Health Minister Veena George told media on Saturday (July 20).

As such, the Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister said that the Wildlife and National Parks Department has enhanced the assisted reproductive technology breeding programme via artificial insemination to help increase its population. He said this is done by acquiring high-tech laboratory equipment for the National Wildlife Forensic Laboratory, which will enhance its forensic capacity, ex-situ conservation, bio-banking, Laboratory Information Management System and the monitoring of zoonotic diseases.
