Tannis Vanderwerken suffered a medical emergency while driving and crashed her vehicle into a utility pole in the area of Grove Avenue and Woodbury Terrance around 5:30 p.m., according to West Deptford police. Vanderwerken, who was alone in the vehicle, was taken to Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
While investigators said she had an unspecified medical issue prior to the crash, the county medical examiner’s office determined Vanderwerken died as a result of injuries suffered in the collision, police noted.
