A motorcyclist was successfully rescued by firefighters after being swept away by strong floodwaters in Jalan Batu Alang Kampung Sungai Siput, Lubok China. The rescue operation took over an hour, with the individual hanging onto a tree during the ordeal.
: Seorang penunggang motosikal yang hanyut dibawa arus deras berjaya diselamatkan anggota bomba selepas berpaut pada sebatang kayu lebih sejam dalam kejadian di Jalan Batu Alang Kampung Sungai Siput, Lubok China.
Ketua Zon 2 Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia Melaka Penolong Penguasa Bomba Zulkhairani Ramli berkata pihaknya menerima panggilan kecemasan dari orang awam kira-kira pukul 7.32 pagi tadi. Beliau berkata lelaki berusia 34 tahun yang menunggang motosikal itu dikatakan telah dihanyutkan arus banjir semasa melalui jalan raya berkenaan yang telah dinaiki air.
“Sepasukan anggota dari Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Masjid Tanah ketika itu membuat rondaan kawasan banjir telah dihubungi Pusat Gerakan Operasi mengenai kejadian itu, dan mereka terus bergegas ke lokasi,“ katanya dalam kenyataan di sini hari ini. Zulkhairani berkata 10 anggota ditugaskan menyelamatkan lelaki itu yang dihanyutkan air sedalam 1.2 meter dan dia berjaya dibawa ke kawasan selamat kira-kira pukul 8.40 pagi tadi.
