A motorcyclist died Saturday after his vehicle collided with an ice cream truck in South Jersey, authorities said.
A 46-year-old Deptford man was driving the truck west on Clayton Road in Monroe in Gloucester County shortly after 11:30 a.m. when he failed to yield the right of way as he tried to make a left turn onto Railroad Avenue, according to township police. Steven Bass, 36, of Williamstown, was riding a motorcycle east on Clayton Road and collided with the truck at the intersection.The ice cream truck driver, who stopped at the scene, was not injured.
No charges had been filed as of Monday afternoon, but the crash remains under investigation, police said. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Monroe Police Officer Michael Fitzgibbon at 856-728-9800, ext. 587.
