Motorcyclist killed in crash on west SR-52 near Santee [Breaking]
A motorcycle rider died after crashing into the back of a tractor trailer early Thursday on west state Route 52 near Santee, the California Highway Patrol said.
The rider was ejected from his Honda motorcycle after the collision, which was reported just before 5:15 a.m. just west of Mast Boulevard. The 26-year-old La Mesa man died before he could be taken to a hospital. His name was not released. Officers closed the two right lanes of the freeway as they investigated the crash, which caused a major backup on SR-52. All lanes were reopened shortly before 8:40 a.m.
The 34-year-old driver of the Freightliner truck tractor-trailer was not injured, said CHP Officer Jesse Matias.No other information was immediately available.
