A 21-year-old motorcyclist tragically lost his life following a collision with a car at the Udini Underpass in Jalan Masjid Negeri, Penang. The incident occurred yesterday morning when the motorcyclist allegedly lost control and entered the oncoming lane.
A 21-year-old motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries after battling for his life for almost 18 hours at Penang Hospital following an accident at the Udini Underpass in Jalan Masjid Negeri. Timur Laut District police chief ACP Abdul Rozak Muhammad confirmed the death at 1.10 am today. According to ACP Abdul Rozak, the accident occurred at 7.30 am yesterday when the motorcyclist allegedly lost control, veered into the oncoming lane, and collided with a car.
The motorcyclist sustained critical injuries and was immediately transported to the hospital. The car driver, a 46-year-old woman, escaped unharmed, but her 11-year-old passenger suffered injuries to her hand. The case is currently under investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. ACP Abdul Rozak urged any witnesses to the accident to come forward and contact the police. Earlier, a 16-second video clip circulating online depicted the motorcyclist approaching a curve at the underpass, swerving into the opposite lane, and colliding with an oncoming vehicle. It is noteworthy that signs in the area clearly prohibit motorcycles from using the underpass and advise them to utilize the Udini Roundabout
