A motorcyclist was badly injured Friday night after a crash in Cumberland County.
The crash occurred at 9:57 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of Newville Road. The area is in North Middleton Township, just outside the Carlisle Borough line. The victim, whom township police did not immediately identify other than as a male from the Mechanicsburg area, was rushed from the scene to a field at nearby Carlisle High School, and then flown by helicopter to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.Police said the motorcyclist was headed west on Newville Road when he collided with an SUV that was pulling out of the parking lot of the Rustic Tavern restaurant, to head east on the highway.
