Motorcycle rider dies in crash on SR-76 near Palomar Mountain [Breaking]
A 33-year-old motorcycle rider died Sunday after he crashed into the back of a pickup on state Route 76 near Palomar Mountain, officials said.
The rider was heading west on SR-76 near Sengme Oaks Road near the La Jolla Indian Reservation shortly before 6:30 p.m. when for an unknown reason he collided into the back of the Toyota Tacoma, said California Highway Patrol Officer Hunter Gerber. The man was ejected from his Yamaha Tenere 700 bike.
Paramedics and CHP officers responded, but the man died before he could be taken to a hospital. His name was not immediately released. He was a resident of Temecula, the CHP said.Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has information about the incident was asked to call CHP officers at 643-3400.
