Federal Transport Minister Catherine King recently rejected Qatar Airways' bid to double their 28 current weekly services in Australia, after lobbying from Qantas. The heatwave has spread across large parts of New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and the Northern Territory. The deal was finalised after billions of dollars in Iranian funds once frozen in South Korea reached the Gulf state - a key element of the planned swap, officials say.
