BEIJING: More than half of the Belt and Road projects worldwide were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, says a Chinese official here.

Foreign Affairs Ministry International Economic Affairs director-general Wang Xiaolong said that 20% of the projects were seriously affected while 40% others were impacted to a different degree.

However, Wang did not reveal the details of the projects and the countries involved, adding that research is being conducted on the impact of the pandemic on Belt and Road projects around the world.
