More Johor newlyweds should apply for RM1,000 'Raja Sehari' incentive

ISKANDAR PUTERI: More married couples and future brides and grooms are encouraged to apply for the Johor government’s incentive for newlyweds, says Ling Tian Soon.

The state health and unity committee chairman said that each couple who registered their marriage after April 14 this year is entitled to one-off financial aid of RM1,000.

He added that a total of RM10mil of the Johor Budget was allocated for this purpose, saying that RM4mil will go to non-Muslim couples and RM6mil is for Muslim couples. Ling - whose portfolio is in charge of disbursing the financial aid to non-Muslim applicants - said the assistance can be applied at the Johor National Unity and Integration Department offices statewide as well as by filling up a form on the department’s Facebook page.
